Joe Knight has more than 30 years’ experience representing businesses in disputes at all levels.  Mr. Knight has served as lead counsel in state and federal district courts, as well as private arbitration forums, on a wide spectrum of commercial disputes.  He has handled numerous high-stakes appeals, presenting oral argument to the Texas Supreme Court, Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and most Texas intermediate appellate courts.  He frequently takes on the Texas Attorney General’s Office, either in court or across the negotiating table.

Mr. Knight began his legal career as a briefing attorney for Chief Justice Tom Phillips at the Supreme Court of Texas.  He then practiced at Baker Botts LLP from 1991 through 2014, where, at various times, he served as the hiring partner, the head of the Austin litigation department, and the partner in charge of the Austin office.
